While driving by Wabedo Lake just outside of Longville, Minnesota this morning I saw the first Common Loon of the season which is the State Bird for Minnesota. I always enjoy seeing the loons return every spring. They are a beautiful creation and a sound that calms everyone. The Ice is just starting to pull back from the edges of the lakes up here this week and we are starting to see the wonderful sand shorelines that encompass so many of the natural lakes in the area. Most of the waterfowl started to arrive looking for open water last Wednesday in the area.
