Deer hunting is great in Minnesota, especially in the Longville, Hackensack, Walker area. The deer harvest has increased by 8% in 2010 over 2009. Our deer herd is at near population goals in most of Minnesota.
For 2011, the archery season begins Septemnber 17th, and the firearm hunting opens November 5th. The Longville/Hackensack/Walker areas have thousands of acres of public land available for hunting. Fall colors have been incredible this year. Fall walleyes are ready, grouse and deer are on the move. Docks are being pulled in 65 to 70 degree weather this week. Lots of listings to make the Longville area attractive. Golfing @ Ridgewood is still available until the hard freeze.

Driving to the office today I really noticed the beautiful fall colors in full peak. Bright red maple colors were reflecting on Woman Lake this morning.

Wow!  What an event!  Here at The Gallery of Homes, we are very happy for all of the people that have chosen us to list their Residences and Land!!   We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday showcasing all of our wonderful listings at the St. Cloud Sportsmen's Show!  What an incredible event!  Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel was there! 
 Thousands of people attended the event and we made contact with a vast majority of those people!  The event has provided many leads and interested buyers as well as a few interested future sellers!   We even made contact with a few excavating customers!

We are entering what is arguably the Greatest time of the year!  As the days grow longer, we begin to feel the warmth of the sun and all of Mother Nature's creatures become more active.   That includes 3 very important groups; (1) Fish, (2) Home sellers, and (3) Home buyers!!  






As the days grow longer and we near the beginning of March, the fish begin to head to the shallower waters.  They begin feeding heavily in preparation for the spring spawning season!  This is great news for those that enjoy standing out on the ice in 30 to 40 degree temperatures catching large fish!  March is a wonderful time of year for all ice fisherpeople!








Also as the days grow longer and we enjoy some warm sunny days, many land and cabin owners begin to think about selling their current property or buying a new piece of dreamland!   Now is an excellent time to review our listings and see what is out there.  We have some GREAT property deals and the phones have been a buz with activity about current and future listings!

While driving around Hackensack, MN showing real estate to some prospective buyers this morning, I noticed several of the lakes in the area lost the ice last night. Here is a list of some of the lakes that I noticed ice out on:

While looking at real estate yesterday I noticed that the ice is reall staring to pull away from the shores. Many of our beautiful sand shorelines are exposed and the ice is becoming honey combed and dark gray. Look for out later this week if this weather continues.

 

While driving by Wabedo Lake just outside of Longville, Minnesota this morning I saw the first Common Loon of the season which is the State Bird for Minnesota. I always enjoy seeing the loons return every spring. They are a beautiful creation and a sound that calms everyone. The Ice is just starting to pull back from the edges of the lakes up here this week and we are starting to see the wonderful sand shorelines that encompass so many of the natural lakes in the area. Most of the waterfowl started to arrive looking for open water last Wednesday in the area.
